Shelters take in about 100 new animals or more each day. And more than likely, many of them won’t find homes. Usually, only the youngest, cutest and “good” dogs go home with a loving family. Pit bulls (my favorite) are a breed that’s especially difficult to adopt out. Mainly because people just don’t understand anything about them. Too often, many of the pit bulls you’ll find in shelters have been abused, neglected and then tossed aside by their owners. For me, that behavior is inexcusable. That’s why I created Rachael’s Rescue to help pets — all pets — that might not have someone who loves them as much as I love my Isaboo. A portion of the proceeds from every bag of Rachael Ray Nutrish will go to charities and organizations that help animals in need. Through Rachael’s Rescue we can help prevent cruelty, reduce homelessness, and improve the lives of pets in need.
